Week Two

1. "Even if you speak the truth, they [uuges and jury] won't hear it if it has an accent or comes from thick, black lips. They certainly won't hear it if it's filled with sidewalk jargon and street slang." (Vea, 72)

2. This passage is significant because it shows that the judge and jury won't listen to people who aren't their color or don't at like they do. So Jesse and Eddy try to make Calvin understand how to act towards them, this includes no cussing and bad actions. It meaningful becuase to Jesse and Eddy it doesn't matter the race what matters is to win the trail.

3. 1. On page 55 last paragraph did Bernard hanged limp?
     2. What is it important for Jesse to win in court?

Week One

1. "I am applying thick, colored putty to her chin..., " the sister would tearfully chant, "so that her pores will have abolutely no way to breathe..." (Vea, 50)

2. This passage is significant because it shows the sister were being nice to her sister but it also shows how well they knew their sister because they use almost the same words as Peresephone said. It meaningful  because this shows a good relationship the sisters had with each other.

3. Why do you think the sister uses the exact same words as Peresephone in chapter 1?
    Do you think the sister were there togther during the good times and bad times?
